Introduction

AElS stands for Admissions Exercise for International Students, a unified entrance examination organized by the Singapore Ministry of Education specifically for international students interested in applying to attend Singapore government primary and secondary schools. The examination takes place in September each year. International students who successfully pass the exam will enroll in Singapore government primary and secondary schools in early January of the following year.

S-AElS (Supplementary Admissions Exercise for International Students) is an annual supplementary examination for primary and secondary school admissions organized by the Singapore Ministry of Education in February. Those who pass smoothly will be enrolled in government primary and secondary schools by mid May or the end of June. The S-AEIS exam does not have entrance exams for fifth grade primary school and third grade secondary school.
