The course aims to prepare students for the GCE 'O'-Level Examination by enabling them to understand and acquire the knowledge and skills stipulated in the assessment objectives of the respective GCE 'O'-Level subjects covered in this programme.

Core Course
English
1.Read and view with understanding, accuracy and critical appreciation, a wide range of fiction and non-fiction texts from print.
2.Speak and write in internationally acceptable English that is grammatical, fluent and appropriate for purpose, audience, context and culture.
Mathematics
1. Acquire necessary mathematical concepts and skills for continuous learning and for application to the real world;
2. Develop process skills for the acquisition and application of mathematical concepts and skills;
3. Develop mathematical thinking and problem solving skills and apply these skills to formulate and solve problems.
Additional Mathematics
1.Develop process skills for the acquisition and application of mathematical concepts and skills;
2.Use a variety of mathematical tools in the learning and application of mathematics;
3.Develop the abilities to reason logically
Science (Physics, Chemistry)
1.Be suitably prepared for studies beyond Ordinary Level in pure sciences, applied sciences or in science-dependent vocational courses.
2.Develop abilities and skills that are relevant to the study and practice of science.
Principles of Accounts
1.Double entry system of book-keeping
2.Accounting procedures regarding capital and revenue expenditure
3.Fundamentals of preparing final accounts - Trading Account, Profit and Loss Account, Balance Sheet and operation of partnerships
4.Preparation of final accounts for sole traders and partnerships.
Elective Course
Chinese Language

 

Literature in Chinese
1.Evaluate and view with understanding, accuracy and critical appreciation, a wide range of classic literature.
2.Develop ability to appreciate Chinese literature.
Geography
1.Acquire knowledge of the characteristics, distribution and processes of physical and human phenomena;
2.Develop a holistic understanding of physical-human relationships at local, regional and global scales;
3.Gain geographical insights and global awareness into future challenges through the study of current issues and their management;
4.Become inquisitive and self-directed learners who ask geographical questions and seek understanding through the collection and analysis of geographical information;
5.Develop skills in communicating and applying geographical knowledge; and
6.Make informed judgements and sound decisions through the analysis, synthesis and evaluation of geographical information.

Minimum 8 years of formal education

 

English Requirement: 

Pass BCI English placement test or equivalent

Aggregate points is 26 or better/ English is 8 or better/
